Dr. Tim Nordemann

Attorney at Law (Germany)

Tim Nordemann advises on intellectual property law, in particular trade mark and unfair competition law as well as copyright law and the law relating to statements and reputation.

In trademark law, he assists clients from trade mark filing and registry proceedings before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) through to litigation before national and European courts. He advises national and international companies from a wide range of industries—among them retailers, platform providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and companies in the entertainment and education sectors—on developing and managing their trade mark portfolios and consistently enforces trade mark rights.

In copyright law, Tim Nordemann assists clients with contract drafting and licensing as well as the out-of-court and in-court enforcement of their rights.

Another focus is the application of intellectual property and copyright law to digital business models—a topic to which he has also devoted extensive academic work: In his award-winning doctoral thesis, he examined questions of copyright liability on the internet from the perspective of advertising-funded illegal business models, also taking into account liability aspects of intellectual property law.

Tim Nordemann completed his legal training in Göttingen and at the Naumburg Higher Regional Court. Before joining the firm as an attorney, he spent several years teaching at the University of Potsdam alongside his doctoral studies.
