Dr. Thomas W. Boddien

Thomas W. Boddien has many years’ experience in the fields of trade mark law, competition law, data protection law and copyright law. His expertise in trade mark law includes the development of national and international trade mark strategies, the provision of comprehensive advice, guidance and representation in trade mark proceedings before the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, as well as the coordination of proceedings abroad. A further focus lies in the enforcement and defence of trade mark rights in judicial infringement proceedings. In addition, he advises and assists in the development and implementation of new business models and marketing measures, with particular regard to competition law and data protection law aspects. Among his clients are, for example, companies from the advertising and media industries, as well as the games, pharma, cosmetic and medical technology industries. Thomas also has clients in the fields of finance and insurance. Before studying law, he gained experience as a managing partner of a company in the IT sector, which he can draw on in the counsel he provides.
