Anke Nordemann-Schiffel is an expert in the fields of copyright, trade mark and competition law, as well as in international law. She has many years of experience in cross-border disputes and in the co-ordination of international judicial and office proceedings. Another focus of Anke’s work is providing strategic advice to holders of international trade mark portfolios in a wide variety of different industries, such as pharmaceuticals and media. She advises start-ups as well as traditional companies on the implementation of new product developments and marketing strategies, as well as, for example, film producers, scientific publishers and fiction publishers in matters related to copyright and licensing contracts. Anke‘s further area of specialisation is in providing comprehensive advice on issues regarding rights of personality.
Anke teaches at, among other places, a Franco-German seminar at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Humboldt University, Berlin) and mostly trade mark and copyright law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Georg-August University Goettingen).
Anke has been much involved with GRUR, the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright, for many years. She was elected President of GRUR in October 2025. Besides GRUR, Anke has been active in INTA for many years.
