How is the blocking of piracy websites dealt with worldwide?
NORDEMANN partner Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann will give a lecture at the 10th MPA / TIFF Advocacy Meeting within the 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). This year’s MPA / TIFF Advocacy Meeting will focus on how best to protect creative content and fight online piracy. It will be attended by international and Japanese academics and legal experts. Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann will give a keynote on “The Constitutionality and Legality of Piracy Website Blocking in the EU”, focusing on the situation in Japan. Japanese scholars are discussing, if website blocking is in line with the Japanese Constitution and the Telecommunications Business Act. The presentation will be followed by an interesting discussion with Tomohiro Tohyama and Professor Nobuharu Obinata.
